We're edging closer to Thanksgiving and I'm getting excited! My son has the whole week off school, so it will be great to get to spend that extra time together and lounge around in pajamas longer than usual. We don't have any plans for the beginning of the week, but we'll probably have friends over (especially kids whose parents have to head to the office). Are your kids out that long?
I mentioned earlier that we'll be splitting Thanksgiving day into two trips (one to my parents' house for a morning brunch and then to my sis-n-law's house for lunch/dinner). Two big Thanksgiving meals in one day calls for stretchy pants! To those of you hosting this year, I found some useful planners and preparation helpers to assist you in getting ready for the big day.
Pop Sugar has a Thanksgiving planner that you may want to reference. It actually starts two weeks out with planning a menu and choosing your turkey, but most of the preparation starts one week before (tomorrow!)
Whole Foods answers that head-scratching question, "How much to serve?" Leftovers are good, but it's disappointing for food to go to waste.
You'll probably want to start prepping the food ahead of time, especially if you have one oven to work with. Super Glue Mom shares her tips for prepping the food early so you're not stressed out the day of.
And this is so cool- a timetable from All Recipes (links to a short video) for when/how to begin prepping and cooking on Thanksgiving day with built in wine breaks! :) Oh yeah, those are definitely necessary on Thanksgiving!

On Honey We're Healthy: Now is the perfect time to make delicious, hearty lentil soup in the crock pot. I made it on Sunday and have been enjoying it all week! This veggie side dish is on heavy rotation around here too. Everything's better with bacon. ;)
Also, I failed miserably at the meditation challenge.
