Is it feeling like Fall in your part of the world? We have cooled off a bit, but that just means we're out of the 100s and into the 80s and 90s. This time year, everyone in Houston is anxiously awaiting that first cool front, but it's sure taking it's sweet time! We were sweating our arses off at my son's soccer game last Saturday!
This week I was asked to check out the Fall collection at ModCloth, a women's clothing site I wasn't very familiar with until now. Where have I been?!?! I tend to shop my tried and true places most often, but I get excited about being introduced to new boutiques with great prices.
I fell in big love with the Fall Night Long Scarf in brown, but it also comes in burgundy and is a steal, under $25. But, I almost went for the Haute Scarf in red- would be especially darling at the holidays. I had fun styling the brown scarf up a few different ways, but don't get too close, you'll see the sweat! Keep scrolling and I'll show you some of my sweater picks from ModCloth too!
First up is my go-to scarf look, just folded in half lengthwise and then the ends looped through the neck. It's loose and casual and looks good with a tank or sweater and especially under a jacket.
Fall Night Long Scarf in brown | tassel booties | jeans | grey tank | sunglasses | felt hat | grey tank
Next up is the scarf draped casually around the shoulders. You could belt this look too for a more polished look and it's the best bet for keeping warm.
With this adorable kissing fox "Smooch Mooch" sweater, I wrapped the scarf loosely around my neck and pulled each end forward at about the same length. This is where I started sweating!
Another great scarf looks is infinity style. Just knot the ends and twist into a loop around your neck. I didn't photograph this one, but you get the idea. With a big scarf like this, it would be a chunky Fall look.
But seriously, how cute is this fox sweater?! I love fun Fall animal sweaters and this one stood out because of the adorable foxes and great hunter green + burnt orange combo. Perfect for Fall! One great thing about the ModCloth site is that they have lots of photos of real customers wearing the items so you can see what they look like on non-model shapes, with lots of reviews. And they offer sizing up to 4X.
(size reference: Small)
Another favorite Fall color is all the deep reds, burgundies, and plums, so I had to grab this cardigan. I'm also thinking forward to how comfy this will be in the next few months as my pregnant belly grows. Cardis + leggings forever!
(size reference: Small, but I probably could have gotten away with XS since I'm so short)
The off-the-shoulder sweater "timeless temptation top in noir" is a showstopper! You can pull the shoulder lower or higher depending on your mood, but I think it's a great GNO top or date night look, especially with a red lip.
See that baby bump poking out?! #15weeks!! I actually love that we can still feel pretty in our clothes with a baby on board. I'm hoping to keep that momentum going throughout this pregnancy.
(size reference: Small, but I wish I ordered Medium, the sleeves were snug and I need room to grow)
And honorable mention goes to this sweater I must have for Halloween season! Houston, please be cooler by then!
ModCloth offers FREE shipping on orders over $75 and FREE exchanges with easy returns. So happy to have learned of this new site! Have you shopped ModCloth before? If so, how was your experience?
