Try to keep your roll of jute burlap webbing rolled... It's easier to work with.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">2 Cut  6 lengths of 20 inch jute burlap and lay close together horizontally (weft).</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">3. Cut 8-9 lengths of burlap for the vertical webbing (warp)... and add 1 inch for folding over and gluing.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Starting at the lower left corner, glue the warp webbing on to the back of the first weft webbing 1/2 inch from the end.  Weave the warp webbing over and under the weft, gluing as you go,. The last weave will be an "over",  Fold the end over and glue to the back of the placemat. See image.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">4. Continue to weave and glue. The second warp strip will begin "over" so leave a little extra webbing to fold the end of the warp over and glue it to the back of the placemat. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Continue weaving until you are 1/2 inch or more from the end.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Cut all the "under" warp webbing and make sure to glue it down close to the edge.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">5. Finished, chic placemat</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">6. Instead of a smooth edge you can opt for a fringed edge! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Make sure you have 2/3 inch overhang on all weft strips. Pull the threads out of the weft burlap ends, making a fringe. Fringe the end and cut to the length you like. Embellish with buttons by gluing them to the burlap.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">*Overlap the buttons for a designer look.<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">* To get rid of hot glue spider webs, use a blow dryer on high and go over the buttons. The hot glue spiders will disappear.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">3. Roll a  napkin and slide inside the napkin ring.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Instead of placemats, use same techniques and make a table runner! 2014 Calendars

<div style="text-align: justify;"><br /><span style="font-size: large;">Hi all!  Did you have a great Halloween night?!  We did! Our neighborhood doesn't get many trick-or-treaters and we considered taking our son to another, more lively area, but ended up staying close to home.  It was a mellower Halloween, but I think just fine for a 3 year-old.  I need to start writing down the things that come out of my son's mouth, he's super funny and so outgoing.  He was talking the ear off of everyone who opened the door- poor neighbors! :)</span></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /><span style="font-size: large;">And now it's officially November 1.  Wow, hard for me to grasp that we are closing in on the end of the year.  But you know one of the things I look forward to most about the beginning of a new year? . . . A new calendar!  You too?  Being a genuine adorer of paper and anything paper-related that is beautiful and well-made makes me giddy to purchase a new calendar each year.  And I'm very particular about the calendar I decide on because I don't want to switch mid-year.  But, that's not to say I won't buy multiple calendars for the same year: a "family calendar" for the kitchen;
