The three pair of boots I ordered online during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale arrived and I had a chance to try them on and see how they fit.   I wear between a 6 and a 6 1/2 shoe and the Franco Sarto Linden Leather Bootie fit perfectly in a 6 1/2 with a thin sock.  I'm a fan of Franco Sarto shoes in general because they are well made and always fit comfortably.  On these, I like the low (2-inch) heel that still gives some height, but I can run around in it for hours without my feet killing me by the end of the day.

The Linden Bootie is obviously a great choice with jeans and pants, but it's still hot in Houston, so I tried out the jean shorts and bootie look for the first time and, surprisingly, I love it!  It can be harder for short girls to pull off booties without looking we have midget legs, but I think it works- maybe because it's a 2-inch heel and narrower foot opening.  You taller girls will rock this look! A looser fitting top goes well with this style, an easy weekend outfit.  I got this peasant style top at Marshall's recently, but found online this one and this one as perfect alternatives at great prices.

I'm like a lot of you who love to have a scarf on hand for indoors when the AC is out of control or for an added interest to your outfit.  I've gotten a ton of use out of this Stella & Dot Union Square Scarf- Frida Print because it goes with everything.  Here, I'm wearing an old tee-shirt, but it's the perfect casual fit, very similar to this one

The Linden bootie comes in black, brown, and tobacco (the color I ordered).  Outside, they photographed more gray than they look in person, but they are still a little "cooler" in color than as pictured on the website.  More of a true brown, than a warm brown.

The second pair of booties I ordered are the Louise et Cie Vernonia Open Toe Bootie.  Not sure of what size I'd be in this brand, I ordered the 6 and 6 1/2.  The  6 was a little snug on my wide foot, so I returned it and kept the 6 1/2.  I adore this buttery tan color that will go with so many things this fall.  I'm fond of the laces too, which feel classy.  I can't wait to wear these booties with dresses!  Below, I'm wearing them with a recent pair of Stitch Fix linen shorts and Frenchi Woven Swing Tank that my friend Cassie got me hooked on.  I have it in three colors.

Even though it's pretty hot for jeans in the daytime here, I wanted to at least try these booties on with my favorite pair of skinnies that I wear cuffed, uncuffed or tucked under depending on the outfit and shoe.  This is just a casual 'striped tee and jeans with heels to dress it up' style.

The Vernonia bootie comes in black and 'tiramisu'.

Unfortunately, the Enzo Angiolini Eero boot didn't work out for me.  The color was gorgeous and they were very comfortable in the foot part, but they were hitting right in the middle of my knee cap, which felt weird.  If I were just an inch or two taller, they would have been perfect.

Luckily, returns are super easy at Nordstrom.  If you aren't familiar with the process, they send you a free return shipping label in the original package that you just stick on the box to return.  You can fill out the back of your shipping receipt with return or exchange info, but if I'm only returning, I do it the lazy way and just highlight the items I'm returning and write "return" in red letters.   I just put the box outside my front door and back it goes with a credit to my account.  Easy peasy.

Oh, and for those of you who asked about the outfit I wore on last weekend's date night, here ya go- the heels are the Nine West Kenie (they are on sale now too).  So is the T-back tank.  The shorts are old from Express, similar to these.  I wore it with a simple gold necklace that I love and thought I lost for several weeks, but finally found in the dryer!  Not sure how that happened, but thankfully, it wasn't damaged and we are reunited. :)
