Wardrobe Wednesday | Boho Chic Styles

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />It's Wednesday and we're already halfway through this week. :) I'm knee deep in several home projects with none of them quite ready to show, so hopefully, I can get it together today and focus on completing one thing at a time!  It feels a little chaotic to have multiple projects going on in different parts of the house, and I'm really looking forward to wrapping some of them up.  </div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /><br></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />Today is Wardrobe Wednesday and I have one of my favorite things I'm wearing lately to show you- this <a href="http://bit.ly/1PNZEFi" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Free People lace trim tunic</a>. It's one of those items that I'd been eyeing for months and finally purchased and am so happy I did.  You know you really want something when you can't stop thinking about it! Weekend Steals & Deals | Getting Ready for Fall

Organized Purses

Organized Linen Closet

<div style="text-align: justify;"><br />It's probably a combination of school starting again and moving our son, James, from his former room into the larger guest room that has prompted a major purge, organization, and cleaning session over here lately.  That, and help from the book I'm reading <a href="http://bit.ly/1Lf2ul4" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up</a>.  I'm already a naturally organized person by nature so I wasn't sure this book would make any difference in my life, but it has!  I'll share more on that later, but this weekend, I worked on not only three kitchen drawers, the linen closet, the massive amount of books in our house, and the paper clutter.  No wonder I'm starting this Monday morning off tired!  But, I'm also feeling invigorated because our home already feels lighter! </div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /><br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />Today, let's start with the newly <b>organized linen closet</b>.  Because James moved into the guest room, I had to clean out that closet that was full of luggage, blankets, pillows, and extra decor items such as picture frames, lamps, and mirrors.  It was pretty well organized, but there was just too much stuff so we had to start fresh.  I forgot to snap a picture of the pile of things inside the bedroom closet, but needless to say, the linen closet was already full also, so I had to do a major purge of both areas.</div><br /><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />The <b>first step to tidying and organizing is always to remove everything</b> so you can clean the space really well (here that meant wiping down the shelves), and then so you can <b>touch and examine each item to see what stays and what goes</b>.  In the <a href="http://bit.ly/1Lf2ul4" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">book</a>, the author talks about keeping only things that serve you and give you joy.  If you have quiet around you while you're going through this process, you can physically 'hear' and feel how your body reacts to each thing as you hold it in your hand.  This makes deciding what to part with much easier.  You're shifting the emphasis of your thinking from "what to get rid of" to "what to keep".  That was key for me.  And I also only wanted to keep what would easily fit inside the closet with room to breathe. </div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Weekend Steals & Deals - August 2015

James' Colorful Big Boy Room

San Antonio Vacation & Our Lazy Summer

text-align: center;"><br /><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />I know my summer has been slow in regards to home projects, but it's been full of love and lots of time with my son, and I wouldn't have it any other way.  My son told me early on this summer that he didn't want to go to camp, but would rather stay home with me, so that's what we did.  He did want to go to a Lego camp and Construction camp (few hours, 1 week each) that he really enjoyed, but other than that, it's just been us all day.  In retrospect, I'm so glad he chose to be home because he's growing up so fast and I enjoy being around him.  He starts kindergarten in just over a week and I know I'm gonna be a mess.  I will miss him after being together so much.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />This summer, we've had good times with cousins and on this particular day, James picked out his outfit, and when he proudly showed me what he wanted to wear, I said awesome!  I know he'll get a kick out of looking back at these pictures in his "fancy shoes", tan socks, and cape.  (By the way, that cape was given to him as a birthday party favor over a year ago.  The mom made it with felt and put each child's initial on the back.  She was happy to hear he was still wearing his.)</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
